Company

Wetcab, established in 1994, has been already operating in the shipbuilding industry for over 20 years. The company is specialized in manufacturing crew sanitary cabins for cargo ships, naval vessels and offshore living quarters, as well as passenger cabins for cruise ships and ferries. Moreover, cabins produced by Wetcab are also applicable in the building industry, e.g. in hotels, hospitals, boarding schools etc. 

The company employs about 80 highly skilled employees. It owns and operates on a 7000 m2 area in the industrial – harbour zone in Gdańsk, with a modern production hall, multifunctional workshop, warehouse and an office building. Manufacturing capacity reaches approx. 3500 cabins per year.

The highest quality of Wetcab’s products, on time deliveries and production flexibility have been recognized for a long time by the biggest shipyards and ship owners, both in Europe and all over the world. The company has already proved many times that it is able to produce ordered cabins within time limits which its competitors cannot meet.

Wetcab offers a tailor-made product which accurately satisfies the customers’ requirements. Direct cooperation with design offices in shipyards results in developing the design which best fits the available space. On the basis of the deck plan provided by the shipyard, Wetcab comes up with the project that satisfies also the needs of the final recipient. About 90% of Wetcab’s products is exported

Preparing an offer

Our sanitary cabins are tailor-made, which means that all the projects and respective quotations are prepared individually for each inquiry. You can either provide us with a complete and detailed design or we can prepare it on our own, basing on a deck plan of the ship. If needed, we will also try to adjust the project in order to increase the product’s utility or change its final cost.

 

 
 

Realization

Once all the transaction conditions are set, the production process starts. All the sanitary cabins are manufactured in Wetcab’s production hall. You may check the realization of your project at any stage of the production - you will be continuously informed by our staff about the progress or you can visit the plant personally. 

Delivery

Wetcab cooperates only with proven carriers. The same transport companies have been working for us for many years, so we can be sure that they always find a proper truck for us whenever we need it, without causing any delay. What is more, they have gained experience in loading, transporting and unloading sanitary cabins which may be considered as an uncommon load. Thanks to this, wet units are always well protected during the transport and any potential damage to the cabins is avoided.

Products

In order to satisfy various customers’ needs, Wetcab offers sanitary cabins made of different materials: steel, stainless steel, aluminium and GRP.  All constructional elements are made of non-combusting substances, in compliance with the requirements of marine qutalifying authorities

Sanitary equipment offered by Wetcab is in the producer’s equipment standards, however, it can be also specified directly by the buyer. Long experience and cooperation with a network of sub-suppliers allow to install equipment of any type, offered by various producers. A sanitary cabin consists of a bottom tray, walls, ceiling panels and door. All hydraulic, electrical and sewage connections are located in a specially designed service corner, with an access from either the corridor or from the inside of the sanitary cabin, through an inspection hatch.

Bottom tray is made as a stiffened box from aluminium, stainless steel or carbon steel. All floor scuppers are connected to one discharge pipe which ends below the bottom tray in the service corner, from where it can be easily connected to the ship discharge system. All elements of the drain system are made of stainless steel.

Ceiling

Ceiling panel is connected with walls by using pop rivets. Empty space in the corners can be used for electric cables installation.

Door

Door is equipped with a toilet lock (with a red/green opening indicator) and a kick-off panel. Its surface can be pvc coated, painted or laminated. Frame is prepared for any type of cabin panel system.

Knock-down elements for assembling onboard

When assembling oboard is required, sanitary units can be delivered in elements and be assembled precisely in the desired location. When access from the outside is possible, panels can be connected by an angle profile which will not be visible. When access from the outside is not possible, panels are connected from the inside by decorative U-profiles.

Wall panels

Walls are made as panels of galvanized steel sheets and mineral wool. One or both sides can be covered with pvc foil in wide range of Gislaved colours. Panels can be bent to a requested shape, of width up to 1200 mm, connected by means of the joining insert, installed on the side profile of the bottom tray.
